A very pleasant flight from Beijing to Bangkok and pleased (obviously!) to be back in Thailand for the next few weeks. A quick spin from the airport to Khao San Road, but this time we are keeping our stay a little more subdued.
We were a little shocked at the current exchange rate, previously 62 baht to the pound, now only 54 – what’s the story Gordon?
Just a few things to sort out before we head south:
1. Book the bus.
2. Hair cut.
3. Dental hygenist (cheap at £10).
4. Replenish first-aid kit.
5. Replenish sun and bite creams.
6. Replenish women’s bits.
7. Laundry.
8. Purchase an iPhone
We like lists, maybe we should consider writing all our posts in this manner. Most likely you won’t hear from us for a few days until we sus out internet availability etc.
Bye for now, off to top up our faded tans
.

Not much to report from Lonely Beach since, just some serious R&R and the camera was left well and truly alone. We’ve spent most of our our time with Steve and Jess just chilling out, playing cards, draughts and having the occasional drink.
The resort is so cheap, we’re paying £6 a night for the hut and most meals, which are to die for, are around a pound – bargain. Our friend Holly was right when said it’s impossible to put on weight in Thailand (except for too many beers), the food is so tasty and healthy. Barbecued chicken, squid, steak, red or white snapper is more expensive costing around £1.50, wow!
We hired a kayak on one of the days for an excursion to one of the many islands – great workout and sorounding views, not sure Sam enjoyed the rowing.

It was difficult to show you how beautiful this place with the previous evening pictures, so we have plenty more. Stunning white beach. The first picture shows our hut and the second the view from our hut.
I know we’ll enjoy our few days here!

We arrived at the island of Ko Chang late yesterday evening and were stunned at how beautiful this place is – it’s more than we ever expected – paradise!
We met a lovely couple, Steve and Jess, on the bus yesterday and have spent most of our time with them since we arrived. We had dinner, chatted and laughed lots and drank rum until the early hours of the morning. The food was exquisite, I had squid cooked on the barbecue and it was mouth watering.

Throwing caution to the wind and getting into the spirit of Bangkok and that of our travels, I got a tattoo done yesterday. I’ve always wanted a Celtic pattern. It was a painful 4.5 hours, but worth it!
