Finally, we have completed our decoration project, signed up with an estate agent and put the house on the market.  We think (…well we would)the house looks superb inside and out and the agent said we should get an editorial spread on the local property paper.  Because of its quirkiness, we had seven agents provide an evaluation, and as you can imagine, they varied substantially in price.

Now that the work is complete, its back to our usual social life…more photos to come and we are back camping this weekend :-)

In preparation of our travels, and not being without some Internet/blogging facility, I/we have purchased a new ultra-portable laptop to take with us. I have been doing a little research (at work :-)) to assess the options available for storing and uploading photos, videos etc. and I think (please feel free to comment) that the best option is to take a laptop and whenever we hit a wireless hotspot, we can blog and upload photos as a backup.

Here’s the plan – Windows Live Writer for offline blogging, which I’m writing this post with.  Picasa WebAlbums for photo storage and Google Video for video storage. I know that hotspots are going to be few and far between - but there must be some at least.  

This Windows Live Writer allows you to save all your post in draft and upload when you get connected.  So there may be nothing for weeks and suddenly a mass of info…although with my record for updating you are probably thinking…ya right! 

Getting excited.  We still have to work out our route, which we will be posting on here for you to provide suggestions/comments.  It could be months before we sell the house, so we are in no rush.  From next week, and once the house has finally hit the mass market, we will sit down and start planning.

As many of you are now aware (from Paul’s blog), we are selling up and heading for a 12-18 month jaunt around the world.  Rather than renting out our house, we have decided to sell it – done the renting thingy previously and it was a nightmare.  Needless to say, we don’t want to be worrying about shit like that when lying on a beach in the Cook Islands :-). 

To ensure a relatively quick sale and a top end price (hopefully), we decided to give it a full birthday, top to bottom. We are nearing the end and it should be on the market within the next few days.

Our neighbour, Tim, has offered to compile some photos for the sales brochure, so I will no doubt stick a few on here in the next day or so.
